Ah, summer. The Sand. The Sea. The beach. Nothing makes the beach more fun than white sand, swimming in the cool ocean, and getting that perfect tan. And nothing make it more painful (and even deadly!) than ultraviolet (UV) rays.

Luckily, the UV detector beads pictured above tells you how much of that skin cancer causing solar radiation is present. They start out crystal clear, then turn multi-colored as the level of UV increases. Better yet, it's a cell phone strap. You can sling it on a number of smartphones or PDAs, meaning this UV meter accompanies you everywhere, even away from the beach.
