Costumes To Benefit Charities.
New Line Cinema today announced plans to host an exclusive charity auction on eBay featuring costumes and props from the highly anticipated musical comedy Hairspray, which opens nationwide on July 20. The charity auction runs from July 19-29 and can be found at www.hairspray.ebay.com.
"Audiences young and old are sure to love Hairspray, and it will be a movie that lasts long after its theatrical premiere," says eBay Style Director Constance White. "eBay is the perfect place for the Hairspray costume auction because it will make the one-of-a-kind costumes available to those who grew up in the Hairspray decade and those that are living the trend right now."

Prockey Pen launched this interesting print advertisement campaign to promote its marker in an unusual manner. The campaign aims at focusing its quality of being complete sun and waterproof as the main strength of the product, at the same time it has attempted to sensationalize the campaign to some extent by publishing these skinny advertisements. A closer look of the advertisements reveals that the models appearing in the campaign are not wearing any clothes but they have painted their body with the marker. As a matter of fact, these products are usually used by children and these markers are comparatively less prevalent in offices, thereby the campaign seems to be targeting smaller chunk of potential customers.
The presentation of the campaign is apparently enticing for people due to obvious reasons. Moreover, using the same concept in all three advertisements seems to be slightly stretching. The text of the advertisement read, 100% water and Sun proof. The campaign was created by Ogilvy, Bangkok, Thailand.

Eva Longoria Appears for Bebe Sport Spring Collection
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has recently appeared in a latest print advertisement campaign for Bebe Sport. In the campaign, the Desperate Housewives actress poses next to swimmers and soccer players in the black and white campaign for Bebe Sport’s Fall 2007 collection. The campaign seems to be banking on public attention using strong star power and popularity of the actress. The advertisement campaign has focused appropriately only on sporting instinct.
The presentation of the campaign is extremely flat and the product benefit is only communicated through the star appearing in the campaign and the environment was created in such a way that it reflects combination of sports and fashion. Therefore the execution of the idea is fairly good. In addition, using a black and white background too has provided the campaign some kind of exclusivity and elegance.

is already famous for making racy advertisements to promote its brand image. However, this print advertisement for the brand seems to have traveled some extra length as it has portrayed questionable image of women. As a matter of fact, the campaign has attempted to show their product or cloths addictive as drugs. The advertisement has shown women indulged in the act of snorting cocaine and the dress has been arranged to appear as the drug. The advertisement is also showing some real cocaine kept on a credit card. The fashion has been depicted as a pile of cocaine shaped like a slinky white dress. However, being that its fashion, the advertisement is not actually supposed to make any sense.
The presentation of the campaign has surely compelled some people to raise question over the idea of depicting women snorting symbolic cocaine. The addictiveness aspect could have been shown in some other way rather almost explicitly showing women taking cocaine. The spelling of the word,fashion, has been printed wrong on the advertisements as well. The campaign was developed by Zoo Advertising, Shanghai, China.

A Harvey Nicholas Fashion Victim
This contentious print advertisement was published by Harvey Nicholas in the leading magazines of UK, which landed in controversy and attracted fierce criticism for being irresponsible. The Advertising Standards Authority received many complaints to terminate the advertisement with immediate effect. The complaints alleged that the advertisement is grossly irresponsible as irresponsible it is showing unsafe driving. The complaints were also filed on the ground that the ad was offensive to people who had been, or who knew people who had been, involved in road accidents.
In response, the advertisers had agued that the situation was obviously not actual and said it was projected to be humorous. They further argued that the car was not hitting the man in the picture. On the other hand, magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Harpers & Queen, which published the advertisement, had also stated that the advertisement was doubtful to affront their readers and they had received no complaints.
However, the ASA had upheld both grounds of complaints and asked the advertisers to withdraw the advertisement. The advertising watchdog noted in its verdict that it showed a car in a dangerous and unwise situation, the advertisement was irresponsible. The watchdog while delivering its verdict said that the authority has concluded that the advertisement was probable to cause severe or widespread offence and asked the advertisers not to repeat the approach.
