Sweet Smell of Figs for the Last Days of Summer

Sweet Smell of Figs for the Last Days of Summer

This guest post is courtesy of Thefind.com

This time of year, late summer, reminds me of the sweet smell of figs. The luscious fruit is now in season and I"m gobbling them up by the dozen. I spent many summers at my grandparent"s home in Pasadena where they had abundant fig and avocado trees. Any beauty product that brings back those sweet memories is one that I love to use during the summer months.

Fig infused cleaners and creams have many beneficial properties and contain anti-inflammatory agents and natural moisturizers. Nude"s intense moisture mask ($60 for 1.4 oz at Sephora) is ideal for reviving delicate or dry skin. It contains milk peptides, honey, fig and liquorice to nourish skin leaving it soft. Red Flower"s exotic globally inspired treatments are always a treat. The Red Flower Tangerine Fig Butter Crème ($52 for 5.8 fl. oz. at Apothica.com) instantly transports me to instant relaxation. The Tangerine Fig Butter purifies and detoxes while balancing the effects of the Red Flower Hammam treatments.

The Korres Fig Shower Gel ($13.00 for 8.45oz, at Skinstore.com) is a treat of a sudsy fig-scented shower or bath experience. The gel is rich in aloe, vitamin C and E as well as anti-oxidant enzymes. A treat and wonderful scent to simply shower, toss on a summery tunic and flip-flops after a day at the pool. Another gloriously fig-scented shower was is from AHAVA. The Mineral Botanic Velvet Cream Wash - Hibiscus and Fig ($19.50 for 17oz at Skinstore.com) is created for the needs of delicate and very dry skin. The creamy body wash helps to heal dry skin and the fig extract helps to fight inflammation, it also does not contain any SLS or parabens. Enjoy the sweet smell of summer, while we count the days until the arrival of fall....

Nature Care and Caring For Nature

Nature Care and Caring For Nature
Global warming has become a matter of huge concern and it becomes our moral responsibility to do something about it. It is really very refreshing to see companies like Louise Galvin showing compassion towards the environment which we live in. As a matter of fact they are one of the first nature hair care companies to adopt the Carbon-Neutral programs.

As we all know that global warming is looming large over us and the effects can be seen all over the world. Basically carbon dioxide accumulates in our environment and blankets the heat from escaping. The consequences of this effect are practically disastrous. The changes can be seen in climate and temperature which also affects our social lives and the economy on a long run.

Louise Galvin adopts the Carbon-Neutral program in which they offset or neutralize the carbon emissions during the product manufacture. The wide range of nature hair care products manufactured by them is derived from the organic compounds, which is really very great in terms of the side effects. They do not use harmful chemicals which can be really damaging to our body.

It is a very human friendly program which shows care and concern towards other people. In this program the companies are provided with certain guidelines in which they can calculate and reduce if not totally eliminate the emission of carbon dioxide. There will still be some carbon emissions which is inevitable. The program guides the companies to neutralize or offset such emissions.

Trees are one of the best ways to naturally reduce the volume of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. They naturally absorb the carbon dioxide and give out oxygen.

The Carbon-Neutral programs encourage the forestry projects and other such opportunities which initiate the environment friendly surroundings. The increase in the volume of carbon dioxide is drastically brought down with the help of this program.

There are many good multinational companies which have introduced the Carbon-Neutral programs like Louise Galvin which is one of the most popular manufactures of nature hair care products. This is system absolutely necessary in order to give a healthier environment to our next generations.

The discount designer debate

The discount designer debate

Contrary to popular belief, discount designer clothes are not less fashionable. Far from it in fact, they just show that the buyer is savvy and streetwise and knows how to get a bargain. Designer clothing normally signifies quality and makes a statement on behalf of the wearer, the designer clothes say "look at me! I look good and I can afford to dress well! A really Sex and the City take on style associate with lifestyle.

We are living through an economic downturn, with a view to this most of us can not afford to overspend on uber fashionable diesel jeans teamed with the latest skyscraper Louboutin sling backs. S how do we get round this economic issue, after all we still want to have good quality clothing that looks good and lasts long. There are many sources of less expensive designer clothing, we want the same names and brands as the celebrities but we do not want to have to spend the same amount of money. Is it possible to do designer on the cheap? The answer is yes; if you are smart and do your research. If you are prepared to put in a bit of effort surfing the internet, going onto discount designer boutiques you'll be sure to find those bargains.

There are many places we can go to buy designer clothes, we can buy off the Internet, or buy from Outlet Parks, or Factory Shops, or Discount stores. Outlet Parks usually have numbers of designer name shops selling items at much reduced prices, these parks work through a rent to sales arrangement, the shops may also sell garments that are the previous season. Factory shops can be a great resource for designer goods, they sell the items at reduced prices and may sell garments that are less than perfect but are very wearable. Nevertheless, the easiest no fuss, most efficient way to finding those much desired designer bargains, has to be the online shops.

Online shopping is the new improved way to shop. It is far less stressful with no cues, rude shoppers or sweaty changing rooms with the unflattering lighting. With all the fantastic technology on these sites we are able to view every garment, with 360 viewing or even better yet catwalk clips. We can see items clearly and how they are meant to be wore and how they fit to the body. The result: 10/10 receiving exactly what you want!

Judith Ripka's Monaco Ring

Judith Ripka's Monaco Ring
My lack of a post yesterday can be attributed to a multitude of things, including fodder for an upcoming post which I am quite excited about. I was at the brand new Judith Leiber boutique at Two Rodeo yesterday, and was absolutely blown away, but more on that later.

In the meantime, enjoy this breathtaking Monaco Ring by Judith Ripka, (not to be confused with Judith Leiber), also available at Two Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, for $15,000. In 18k yellow gold with a black onyx center stone, royal pave black diamond shank and bezel set round briiliant diamond prongs, what"s not to love?

Judith Ripka"s designs are all absolutely beautiful and there isn"t a piece in the store I wouldn"t wear. If you live in the area, or are visiting L.A. anytime soon, it is worth a trip to either invest in or drool over all the feminine, pretty baubles - many of which are quite affordable, with pricing ranging from $100, (frugal snob), to $60,000, (super-uber snob).

Miu Miu Quilted Messenger -Clutch

Miu Miu Quilted Messenger -Clutch
Miu Miu has been like, "Eh, whatever", for a couple of seasons. But this made me sit up and take notice! It is not super extraordinary but the quilting and the aubergine is good enough to eat! But what"s really exciting is that it is a messenger and a clutch. I mean, the giant clutch trend is a bit out but clutches are all bigger now because of it so this proportion is perfectly acceptable (one caveat, you have to be tall to pull this off). A lot of clutches come with a strap and become a shoulder bag but this comes with a super long strap that can go cross body. Yeah, it"s not exactly a "messenger", to me messengers are more square but the dimension on this (17" x 8") make it into a real shoulder bag instead of a make shift one. I also love the little flap, it makes the large size less overwhelming. And the price is great, at Net-a-Porter for $695.
